It's our tribute toPīwakawaka's ability to pop out five clutches of eggs in a single season.This numbers game helps the species survive their many predators, like cats,rats and stoats. Thankfully, both parents share the chick-rearing duties, asbaby fantails expect a feed every 10 minutes – that's 100 times a day!Being one of our smallest native birds, we've recreated these Pīwakawaka alittle bigger than life-sized. All the better for you to gaze up at them andsmile, every single day.
Our Pīwakawaka and Baby is:

Our birds are designed with 3mm CorTen steel to form a protective patina thatdeepens and strengthens with the seasons. This patina will deepen in shade overthe years until it reaches a deep brown/charcoal black hue.
This self-sealing aspect of CorTen steel provides a quality guarantee of upto 100 years, ensuring that our product lasts a lifetime and remains completelycorrosion resistent.
What might initially resemble generic rust is simply the air and water-tightpatina forming over a six month period, so don’t panic! Your Metalbird isdoing exactly what it’s been designed to do, and this patina will protect thesteel from any further damage and disintegration.
CorTen steel does not require any treatments, oils or chemical additives andis therefore extremely environmentally friendly.
Delivery Times
We use CourierPost for most orders, which allows for fast and reliable delivery to destinations across their comprehensive domestic network. Delivery times are 1-2 working days but can vary depending on a product's stock status and the intended delivery address.
Heavy and Bulky Goods
Larger products will be shipped via Mainfreight. Please allow an extra 1-3 days for heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks.
New Zealand Delivery Rates
Most of our products ship for $4.90 to $8.90 NZD per shipment, not including heavy and bulky goods. An accurate shipping cost will be calculated during the checkout process.
