Delivery Rates & Times

Delivery Times

We use Courier Post for most orders, which allows for fast and reliable delivery to destinations across their comprehensive domestic network. Delivery times vary depending on a product's stock status and the intended delivery address. 

Overnight Delivery

Most 'In stock' products are delivered overnight anywhere in New Zealand – provided the order is placed before cut-off time. Our Overnight Delivery cut-off is usually 3:30pm Monday to Thursday. Larger products take an additional 1–2 days to be delivered to the South Island. Rural Delivery and Dangerous Goods may take an additional day for delivery.

Heavy and Bulky Goods

Please allow an extra 1-3 days for heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks.

New Zealand Delivery 

Most of our products ship for $5.95 to $8.90 NZD per shipment, not including heavy and bulky goods.  An accurate shipping cost will be calculated during the checkout process.

Please note our rates for shipping heavy and bulky goods like chairs and desks vary for each region and which will be calculated at checkout. 

Most orders are shipped using New Zealand Post and these parcels are shipped with no-signature required. For our heavy and bulky goods, these are shipped via Mainfreight with signature required.

Tracking the delivery status of my order

You can use your tracking number to track the delivery status of your item on the Courier Post website.

The vast majority of parcels shipped out from us via Courier Post are sent on an overnight courier for delivery on the next business days. For rural addresses or oversized orders, delivery can take additional time. If you are concerned about delivery or if there has been a delay with your parcel, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Problems with your Order

Cancelling or modifying an order (e.g. changing address)

If you need to cancel or modify an existing order for any reason, please contact us to let us know. This includes changing your delivery address, adding or removing items, or changing your payment method. 

Please note that, while we do our best to honour requests to cancel or modify an order, we cannot guarantee that this will be possible. All orders are shipped out as quickly as possible, and in instances where an order has been fully processed and packaged by our team, or where an order has been handed over to the courier, we will not be able to make changes.

We want to make you happy and to enjoy shopping with us. If you’re cancelling your order because you’re unhappy with the service you’ve received, or if you’ve found the item cheaper elsewhere, please tell us so that we might have the opportunity to make it right.

My order has not shipped

There are a number of reasons why your order may not have shipped. Shipping your order as quickly as possible is of the utmost importance to us and you can rest assured we’ll be doing everything we possibly can to hurry things along.

Your item is not in stock

We can only dispatch items that are in stock in our warehouse. Items that are Pre-Ordered or Special Order need to be ordered and delivered to our warehouse before they can be dispatched and delivered to your address.

My item arrived damaged

If an item you have ordered has arrived damaged, please contact us as soon as possible. We will advise you on how best to proceed once damage has been confirmed and assessed. Once we have confirmed the damage or fault, we will endeavour to repair, replace, or refund items where possible.

  • You retain the original packaging, including the box or satchel
  • You accurately describe the fault or damage
  • You attach clear photographs of the damage

Can I return or exchange an item?

The item I ordered arrived damaged, faulty or doesn't work as intended

Please arrange to return the item to Gift Monkey for assessment. Once we have confirmed the damage or fault, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

I've had my item for a while, but it no longer works as described

If your item becomes faulty after a period of time, we will assist wherever possible to repair or replace your item. We are committed to protecting your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act, and working with our suppliers to assist with warranty claims. Please note items that require repair or assessment by a 3rd party can take several weeks to be processed.

For the fast processing of your return, please ensure the following:

  • You provide the original packaging (if you still have it)
  • You accurately describe the fault or damage (this will ensure our repair agents can reproduce the fault or error)
  • You attach clear photographs of the damage
  • You provide the serial number for electronics and computer items
  • You provide any passwords (or remove passwords) that may be required to gain access and reproduce a fault

I've changed my mind and no longer want the item I ordered

If you've changed your mind you can return your item as long as it's unopened, in mint condition and returned within 14 days of delivery. The shipping for the return will also be at the cost of the buyer. Once we've received the item and our returns team confirms everything checks out OK, you will receive an account credit which can be used to purchase a replacement item.

The item I received is not the item I ordered

Provided the item is unopened and in mint condition we'll replace the item or provide a full refund. Please arrange to return the item for assessment.

How to package your return

Please note, neither us nor the courier company used can be held liable for improperly packaged return items which have been damaged in transit. Please take the time and care to read through the below recommendations on how to package your item.

If you’ve contacted us about returning a product and have received a return authorisation from our customer services team, you may want to take the below into consideration when packaging your return.

When returning a product to us it is important to ensure that it is packaged securely in order to prevent any damage from occurring to the item. Unfortunately, if an item is damaged in transit due to insufficient packaging, we will not be able to cover the item, and the product’s warranty may be voided.

Please keep the following in mind when packaging your return:



  • Select a suitable box. Look for something with similar dimensions to your item so that the item sits firmly, as this will help prevent movement and damage.
  • Consider the weight, fragility, and value of the items you are shipping.
  • Try and ensure that there is at least 6cm of space between the edges of the box and your item.
  • Avoid using older or damaged boxes, as they may have lost some of their rigidity and be prone to further damage.



  • It’s important to fill all empty spaces within the box. Ensure that you completely fill the areas around the item to avoid contents moving while in transit.
  • Ensure that the item is well padded on all sides. Items without sufficient padding on all surfaces may be more likely to be damaged.
  • If you do not have suitable packaging materials, your post office should have suitable materials available for purchase.
  • If shipping multiple items in a single package, always wrap each item individually.
  • Small or loose items should be placed in an inner container or plastic bag to avoid items separating during transit.
  • Apply special handling labels (e.g. Fragile tape), as this can help ensure the appropriate transport, handling and storage of the shipment during transit.
  • Note your tracking number once you have handed your parcel over to the Post Shop/courier.


Internal Packing Materials:

  • Bubble wrap is great for providing cushioning and protecting the item.
  • Air bags are suitable for filling empty spaces around the contents.
  • Crumpled paper or newspaper is a low-cost option for filling empty space and adding padding.
  • Foam peanuts/pellets provide cushioning.


If you have followed the above and your item has been sufficiently and securely packaged, then not to worry! If any damage is incurred through courier negligence, we will be able to assist you in making a damages claim with the couriers to ensure that the damage is covered.

Managing your addresses

You can store multiple addresses to make ordering quick and easy. Note you will need an account with us before you can add, edit or remove addresses.

You can add and remove addresses from the Checkout and My Account. Storing multiple addresses is handy if you have items delivered at home and work or if you deliver gifts directly to your loved ones.

Note: if you need to change the delivery address for an order you’ve already placed, you need to contact us. It’s not possible to update a delivery address online.

Credit Card online

We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express Credit and Debit cards with Payment Express. Please note we use Mighty Ape's payment gateway so you will see Mighty Ape's name on your statement.



If you have a PayPal account you can pay using PayPal. When selecting PayPal as a payment method you will be redirected to PayPal to confirm your payment before your order is accepted. Payments are reconciled instantly for fast processing of your order. We use Mighty Ape's PayPal account so you will see Mighty Ape's name on your statement.


Afterpay (New Zealand only)

If you have an Afterpay account you can pay using Afterpay and then pay in four fortnightly payments. When selecting Afterpay as your payment method you will be redirected to Afterpay to login and confirm your payment after the final checkout step. We'll process and ship out your order once it has been verified by Afterpay, and you'll be able to pay your order off in instalments. Learn more about Afterpay.

Pre-Ordering Items

Our Preorder process

Preorders work just the same as a regular order, except that you won't receive your order until the product is officially available for sale.

When placing a preorder please note that you will be charged the full amount right away.


Preorder Price Guarantee

If you preorder an item and our price changes before the release date, you’ll pay the lowest price. Once the product has been released please contact us to request a refund of the difference.


Preorder Delivery

We will do our best to ship these products before the official release date – to ensure the product is delivered to your door on the official release date. In most cases we will ship the product as soon as we can depending on the release date and the arrival of stock to our warehouse.


Please be aware the expected release date is based on our eta from supplier and is subject to change.

This is done to ensure your card and online accounts are never used without your permission and to keep customers safe while shopping online.

A notice or other communication will be deemed to have been received: if delivered personally, when left at our registered office; if sent by pre-paid first class post or other next working day delivery service, at 9.00 am on the second Business Day after posting domestically or the tenth business day if sent internationally or if sent by e-mail, one Business Day after transmission (subject to receipt confirmation in accordance with clause 30.6 below).

In proving the service of any notice, it will be sufficient to prove, in the case of a letter, that such letter was properly addressed, stamped and placed in the post and, in the case of an e-mail, that such e-mail was sent to the correct email address provided by the intended recipient, and a confirmation of delivery to that address (whether automated or personally generated) is received by the sender.
  5. The provisions of this clause shall not apply to the service of any proceedings or other documents in any legal action.



  1. You and we both agree that our Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand or Australia, without regard to any conflict of laws provisions.
